HIGHLIGHTS: Mass turn out of mothers with their children for immunization, Sensitization talks to staff and these mothers in turns by the Connecting president Melody Modebelu, TRF Chairman Sylvester Ibeleme and Polio sub chairman Grace Okaro. Decoration of PHC Coordinator Mrs. Rose Otutuabuike and team with End polio ins. Demonstration immunization and presentation of gift items, polio pluses and add ons.
HEPATITIS B & C ZERO CAMPAIGN

Rotary club of umuahia conducted Hepatitis B & C zero campaign in three hot and busy centres ( mouau, isi-gate/ umuahia north LGA & ST Andrew’s Angican Church Isiama Afara Umuahia. A campaign for eradication of Hepatitis B and C, Adequate publicity. Scientists were present at the flag off. Connecting President addressed the audience and patients on efforts of RI in doing good and saving lives through an Action Group headed by Humberto S.
TREE PLANTING PROJECT

The Rotary Club of Umuahia action group Project on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene: An RI focus area. In response to one of the six areas of focus "Water, Sanitation and Hygiene" RC Umuahia embarked on "Tree Planting Campaign" on Wednesday 7th August, 2019 at Gate of Heaven Funeral Home Premises of Madonna Catholic Church Hospital Umuahia. The dire need for the project was to assist in managing the erosion prone environment, create green environment for healthy living, improve the premise hygiene, to check-mate run channels water and erosion direction of movement and contribute towards global warming resilience as well pro-actions. The Connecting President Rotarian Professor Melody Modebelu led the action group.
WORLD POLIO DAY AWARENESS, IMMUNIZATION & ADVOCACY

Rotary Club of Umuahia embarked on Awareness Campaign & Advocacy Visits to mark the 2019 World Polio Day on Thursday, 24th October, 2019. After the Joint Zonal Awareness Walk which members of the club participated in, the club paid an Advocacy Visit to Eze Amara III of Eluelu Community in Old Umuahia, Umuahia South Local Government. The club also visited the Primary Health Care Centre, Old Umuahia to interact with the Nursing Mothers & Health Officials and carried out demonstration immunization of the children at the Health Centre.

Connecting President Melody Modebelu was decorated with a Merit Award of "NNE IHE" by St. Andrew'Anglican Church Women. On 15th March, 2020, being Mothering Sunday, President Melody Modebelu was recognized and decorated with a Merit Award of "NNE IHE" by St. Andrew' Anglica Church Isiama Afarukwu, Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria. Rotary of Umuahia participated in the celebration. It afforded a beautiful opportunity to interact with community and carrying the message to families and members of the community. Rotary Club of Umuahia gave a financial support to the church in support of the award and mothers.
COVID-19 PALLIATIVE & RELIEF MATERIALS DISTRIBUTED

Report on COVID-19 special intervention project carried out by rotary club of umuahia in collaboration with IBWU foundation after discussions, the Rotary Club of Umuahia, District 9142, Nigeria, and It Begins With U (IBWU) Foundation agreed to carry out an Intervention Project to try to buffer the effects of the ongoing pandemic. It was decided that the Distribution of Relief Materials to some families around Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria, would go a long way towards achieving this goal.
